A journey begins

My great grandmother developed an interest in our family's geneology before she died.  She did a lot of research and invested a good deal of time and energy in tracking our family back and learning as much as she could.  At the time, I was in high school.  I remember vaguely hearing that she and my grandmother were heading off to look at this cemetary or that one to see what they could find, if anything.  I was not interested...  then.

Then, we lost my grandfather unexpectedly last January.

I'm interested now.  And I live 2 hours from my grandma, so let the journey begin.  We're working through old pictures and talking through what we know.  I'm taking small sections at a time home with me to scan, document (somehow!) and scrap.  I'm not sure what form this final project will take.  But, I'm excited and finding myself very interested in things I didn't expect to be.

So, here's my first project.  MaryAnn Wise's templates released today simply couldn't be more perfect for my needs. Template No 2 as well as her new paper pack Meadow Roads.  I used a mask set from J Barrette on Scrap Matters (Mas-querade) as well as some elements from Vinnie Pearce's Old Things kit at Twopeas.  Font is Brutbrottier available as a freebie.  The text is her obituary, in full, as it appeared.
