Conversations at Target

Kelly's new Kit "Talk to Me" is simply perfect for capturing those moments between you and your child where they just truly, crack you up.  Or those things they say you just don't want to ever forget...

Here's what I did with it:

First Menu of 2011

So, this week, was a good week.  I ran an 8.26 mile trail run in 1:33 in the freezing cold and steep terrain.  And I lost 1.6 pounds. So, here's for trying to plan well for the week ahead.

Monday:  Stuffed Shells and  No Bake Cheesecake
Tuesday: Grilled Cheese & Soup
Wednesday: Parmesan Tilapia and Slow Cooked Potatoes
Thursday: Bratwurst and macaroni and cheese
Friday: Pizza with Friends
Saturday: Dinner Party- bringing munchies like Boursin & Wheat Thins
Sunday: Leftovers!

But seriously, it's recipes like this that make me want to say "forget it, I like being fat".  :P

How ya doing with your goals for the year so far?

Lots of Layouts... Including P365!

Here it is!  The project I decided to tackle this (hopefully bittersweet) year for us.  The Project 365!

It sounds daunting, huh?  Not with the AMAZING kit laid out for you by Joey Lynn Designs.  There are 15 DOWNLOADS of material- templates, covers, title page, prompts all to get you through your P365 without sucking away your real life.  It's available at Owl Tree Studio which also started doing $1 weekend sales... Soo.... {wait, really, look at my page first, okay? Then go shop.}

Title Page

Sigh...  It never fails that when I go to put my kids books together, I have gaps during the months I was finishing and assembling the prior year and also Christmas, so I have a lot of scrapping to do.  But, in the mean time, enjoy this current layout. :)

I used a template by ChrissyW who is now at TwoPeas but her old templates are retired.  Seriously worth checking out her new goodies though!  Head on over!

Thank You {Cards}

I saw this craft idea on another blog (if it's yours, please tell me and I'll credit you).
I thought they'd make cute thank you cards.

Easy to make- a package of red cardstock plain cards, white cardstock, brown ink pad, Thank You embellishment (or printable or alpha-stickers) and black and brown craft markers/Sharpies/whatever to decorate your "deer" family.

Journal Your Christmas Update

Still getting some things put together, but I like how it's coming together.  Here's what I haven't shared to date... Credits are all available by clicking on the title links.  I treasure feedback, even constructive criticism.  Thanks for stopping by today.  Happy New Year!

So, what are YOU doing in 2011?

Do you make resolutions?
Do you create projects?
Do you just GET THROUGH till 1/1/next year?
Will you pick a word to focus on this year?
Are you taking a photo a day?

For the past 2 years, I've created a list of goals for myself for the coming year in a few categories: family, friends, personal growth/development, spirituality, financial, community

We started this because there was a year after my daughter was born where we didn't have anything "big"- no deployment, no move, no new baby, no job changes and this helped us focus on doing the stuff we really wanted to do as a family before the next year arrived.

I did really well that year with getting things crossed off my list, this year not so much.  I'm really focusing on 2011 and what I'd like to accomplish and how.  I'm not completely certain what form it will be taking, but there will be a "list" and there will be a scrapped project.  The rest, as they say, is details....

How 'bout you?
