Lift me Up Challenge!

Karla Dudley did this amazing linked lift challenge for anyone wanting to participate.  Who doesn't appreciate getting lifted by another scrapper? (For those who don't know, this means taking one of your LO's/designs and creating a page that's inspired by something you did- format, theme, colors, photo angle, something!)

I got the honor of lifting Pamela.

I was drawn to this page...
And here's my lift...  I had a rough week.  It's going to be another rough week.  I am thankful it could be worse.  But it doesn't mean it's not hard.

What I loved about Pamela's work was her use of self-portrait in many of her layouts.  But the depth of emotion and feeling she creates with the angle of the shot and then the way she adorns the page.  I used a smattering of Karla's kits in this layout including Fly Girl and Friends

In the spirit of "Lift me Up", I also want to share this refrain from our worship music this past Sunday at church.  Hard times come in all shapes, all forms and at the worst times in our lives.  I mean, is there a good time?  But these words are so true for all of our worries, cares, problems and concerns...

Breathe, just breathe
Take the world off your shoulders and put it on me
Breathe, just breathe
Let the life that you live be all that you need

Lifting a fellow scrapper

Some fun things to do digitally are to look at another designer and create something based on their work.  TwoPeasinaBucket has been highlighting a digital designer weekly based on submissions to the gallery & a challenge you can participate in asks you to look at their work and lift one of their pieces.  This week, the Pea in the Spotlight was CindyW and I picked this layout to lift.

Here's my lift: (Link here for PeaPraise)

Another lift on TwoPeas is a challenge hosted weekly by Vinnie Pearce.  This month's challenge is listed here: Lift This!

Challenging Challenges

I confess I'd seen the "Lift SJ" Challenge on Two Peas for a week or so now.  It just seemed a hard challenge for me.  She is obviously a talented scrapper with beautiful layouts, but I'm so all about the multiple picture layouts with stories that scrapping in her style really pushed me.  I finally thought about one picture from last weekend that would be perfect, all by iteself.  There's a story yes, but it's not one I'll forget nor is it integral to our family's story.  So, to participate, I'll step outside my box and have some fun :)  Enjoy!
Kits:
All in the Family Grunge Masks
CK Journaling Font
Old Things from Vinnie Pearce
Dream Mini Kit from Vinnie Pearce

Leave some PeaPraise please!  Maybe next week, the spotlight could be on me...
