Scrapping, scrapping everywhere!

My little guy will be 5 very soon and I've gotten behind on his scrapbook for this year, so time to get back at it.  That and his quilt that I had hoped to finish in the spring...  Sigh.

So, here's a page about something near and dear to our hearts- the March of Dimes.  It's our 5th year participating and the first year my son walked all 3 miles on his own.  So proud!

And a freebie Tuesday Template by HeatherT.

Enjoy!  And as always, love the comments!

Catching Up: P365, 2 weeks

Day 1
One thing I love about Thirty-One is the free gifts we can earn different ways.  Love this new pattern!
Day 2
My pancakes aren’t as good as Daddy’s, but they’ll do.
Day 3
Helping Amanda and Brian bring their baby girl home from China = flowers for me.  Happy day!
Day 4
Our neighborhood party was actually July 3, but it was definitely a celebration for America.  We even sang Happy Birthday USA!
Day 5
Sweet girl brought all the penguins from her toy bin and told me they were a family- just like we will be.
Day 6
Popsicles for all on a hot, hot, yard sale day!
Day 7
Putting a toy out for a yard sale drastically increases its level of intrigue to a toddler.

Day 1:
We finished up the yard sale and would definitely count it a success! Especially that it was done!
Day 2:
Church was truly “dangerous” this morning!  Poor baby girl’s head just kept getting in the way of things.
Day 3:
Some times a field trip to the pet store is just the thing for a hot day.
Day 4:
A really nasty storm came through- tornado alarms went off and the police drove through neighborhoods.  This was the aftermath.
Day 5:
My first trip away from the kids- Thirty-One style!  Columbus, here we come!
Day 6:
Product Debut at National Conference with Thirty-One!  Never dreamed I’d scream for new purses, but I did!
Day 7:
I was in awe of the generosity of the company.  My new Cindy Tote is leather trimmed & personalized.

More to come soon...

Remember to Dream

I've done it.
I've finally figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

I think I'm also ready to admit that when I was about 19, going through my first year of engineering college at Purdue (BOILER UP!), I came across a catalog.  I don't know if it was Mary Kay, Avon, whatever, but I thought at the time, "People would think I was completely insane if I did something like that but I know I'd be great."  I thought they'd see my "smarts", my talent, my passion wasted in something that seems like such a "doesn't happen to anyone I know" type of thing.

Well, here I am.  A military spouse.  Out of corporate America after 5 years.  A stay at home mom.

And a Director with Thirty-One Gifts.  My husband supports me 100%.  My business has soared.  And for the first time in my life I've found something I'm truly passionate about.  (No, I can't do my Thirty-One stuff till I get the laundry folded!)

So, I felt really compelled to scrap this photo with Edeline's new kit- Remember available at Digital Dandelions.  I used the May Freebie template from ChrissyW.

Love is All around

I recently got a new planner/to-do organizer and it's got an open front where I can slip things.  I made this to print and put inside there as a cover.  I have also decided that if there was 1 person (alive or dead) I could have dinner with, it would be Eleanor Roosevelt.  Who would you chose?  (All the quotes at the bottom of my LO are from her.)

Menu Planning... been awhile I know!

It's been a while since I've posted much of anything, I know.  That's due to many reasons- travel, summer busyness, etc.  I made a real good try this week at getting a real list together of meal ideas so here goes:

Sunday Dinner: Cajun Spiced Chicken and Sweet Potato Fries

Monday:
Omelettes and English Muffins
Spaghetti, Green Beans and Garlic Bread
Skinny Chicken Tikka

Tuesday:
Chocolate Chip Ricotta Muffins
English Muffin Pizzas, Oranges
BBQ pork and macaroni and cheese

Wednesday:
Pecan Raisin Granola Bars
Grilled Cheese (with Pesto for me) and tomato soup
Ground Turkey with Peas and potatoes

Thursday:
Cereal/Oatmeal with fruit
Fish Sticks and Tater Tots with Corn
Chicken Sausage and Pasta

Friday:
Pumpkin Pancakes
Pizza Pockets
Leftovers/Frozen Pizza *babysitter*

Saturday/Sunday: leftovers

Also going to make: Strawberry and Rhubard Crisp for a dessert

We'll see how this goes.  There's a high chance it will just end in more dishes, tons of leftovers/wasted food and a very discouraged mommy...  Pray for us.

Catching up... Project 365

I finally got a couple of layouts completed and posted!  I am so glad we're almost halfway through 2011!  Will blame the fatigue of being almost 13 weeks pregnant with baby #3 :)

Month in Review: May

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?

I actually have been reading a lot this past month.  I read the Trylle Triology (Book 1, Book 2, Book 3) and also finished Chosen.  And most notable, I graduated from the Disciple I Bible study at church so I finished up that reading as well.

What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
I finally got around to watching The King's Speech.  Excellent.  I've been watching a lot of Criminal Minds ironically.  Though the one about the Facebook killers made me turn it off for the night.

What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
We had a great time at a Memorial Day BBQ with some friends.  We also enjoyed a few play dates with friends at the local parks now that the weather is just starting to cooperate.  I also hosted a Gold Canyon Candle party and am excited to get all my goodies from the consultant today!

What gifts did I give and/or receive?
I sent one crocheted dragon to a very special 2 year old.  But otherwise, nothing.  I did receive 2 cards from my husband.  And we sent 2 boxes to him, including his Father's Day gifts.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Nothing major or unusual has really popped up thankfully this month.  Invested in some new DS games (De Blob2 and Pinkalicious for the kids)

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
I came down with another case of bronchitis requiring the inhaler thanks to my awesome war with Whooping Cough earlier this year.  And my son came down with strep really suddenly.  Thankfully they both reponded to antibiotics and we were better after we finished up the meds.

What were my accomplishments this month?
I finally managed to get us switched out of base health care.  And I got the squares cut and ordered for my son's quilt.  I'm excited to start working on it for him.  I also finished up about 12 more pages of our European Cruise scrapbook.  So, would love to actually finish and hit the ORDER button on it soon!  And businesswise, I am thrilled to have earned the $2000 Disney Gift Card incentive from Thirty-One!  My team performed well again and I had my first over $1000 party without it being a fundraiser!

What were my disappointments this month?
There were a few but nothing monumental and nothing earth shattering...  looking forward to just having one month behind us and staying positive about that.

Anything else noteworthy to include?
We were able to chat with Daddy on the computer which the kids did like.  :)
