How do you restart?

If you are someone who works hard at maintaining their weight/work out routines, how do you react when you fall off the wagon?

The winter, for me at least, is full of reasons not to stay on my routines & schedules.  From the weather to illness to visiting and holidays.

So, I heard about a great deal at CVS on toothpaste (thanks to a friend over at FindsForFriends) and used my CVS rewards $ towards a little notebook with a band around it to start tracking my calories and activity in again.  Nothing expensive or difficult, but I'm down 1.5 pounds this week so far and back to feeling more incontrol and better.

Had to do something since that half marathon in 5 weeks isn't going to run itself!

What are your tricks?

  1. I know it sounds weird, but I just get back on track. We're all going to have bad days, weeks, months even, but we're human. :o) I read somewhere that it doesn't matter what you do (eat/exercise) today, if you mess up, remember that tomorrow is a new date with a clean slate. So I really try to remember that. And I just recommit myself to eating better and working out. :o)

  2. I was doing so well until about 3 weeks ago and bam! My hard efforts for the last 2 months are gone. I just get into slumps and sometimes it takes awhile to get out of them. I can't wait for the warmer weather and our move. I hoping to get back on track soon!
