Reading Updates... And a HIGH!

It was a struggle this month to get my reading done.  I should add that each year, my husband and I have started creating a list of things we'd like to do in the coming 12 months.  The list covers lots of areas- personal development, family, friends, faith, community, etc.  One of my goals is to read 65 books.

This week, I finished (#35) Scat by Carl Hiaasen .  It was written in 2009 but touches so closes to the current oil disaster in the Gulf Coast, that it seems almost prophetic.  We used to live in Pensacola.  We met and fell in love in Pensacola and every update I hear about this BP nightmare makes my heart cry.  We were there for Hurricane Ivan and just missed Katrina.  It sucks.  My only negative was the narrator in the audio version drove me slightly insane.

As an aside, my running career hit an all-time high tonight!  My first award!  I won 5th place in my age group for the local 5K.  I ran it in 26:54 and had my best time ever!  Go me!!!
